Poster exhibition on inspiring paths of women scientists in mathematics, physics and computer science
Dear all,
We are inviting you to the opening event of a poster exhibition about the biographies and contributions of women, both past and present, in physics, mathematics, and computer science.
The opening will include talks by Prof. Amelia Bayo and Dr. Audine Laurian. Prof. Bayo is Project Scientist at ESO and Professor at the University of Valparaiso and will give a talk on leadership, “What inspired me to (try to) become a leader”. Dr. Audine Laurian is the scientific manager of the “Waves to Weather” research center at LMU.
She will talk about the comic book project “Of course! Inspiring stories about becoming a scientist” which she produced and is about gender biases and scientists who actively made positive changes.
[...]
We, the organisers, are master students of physics, maths and computer science and would be happy to see many of you at the opening event. The exhibition will also stay in the hall in front of the Café Gumbel for two weeks, starting on May 16th.
For further details on the purpose of the event or the content of the talks, please refer to our indico webpage.
